It’s done. Finally. Tick. Finished. Move on to the next thing. That’s how my creativity urges me on.
Oh, wait—I need to tell people about it. No one will know it is exists if I don’t, and someone might like to read it. So, here I am, letting you know that I’ve written another book. It’s called Novel Writing Mastery: A Step-By-Step Guide From Conception To Publication.
I keep forgetting to mention it, which is silly because I genuinely think it’s a book that could help anyone who’s writing.
It’s been formatted. The cover’s done. I’ve uploaded it to the printer/distributor, and it’s on Amazon, ready for you to order.
What’s in the Book?
This book is a culmination of everything Rose and I have shared on our Alkira Publishing YouTube channel over the past couple of years. I actually started writing it long before that, but life got in the way—editing and publishing for others kept me busy.
This year, I finally had a bit of breathing room and thought, ‘Right, time to finish this book.’ And I did. At about the same time as we finished recording the videos on the same topic.
Novel Writing Mastery isn’t just about the technical craft of writing a novel. Sure, it covers that, but it also dives into the personal challenges writers face. It’s the wisdom on novel writing that I’ve accumulated since diving into the publishing industry back in 2007. I cover questions like:
– ‘I’ve written this book—should I publish it?’
– ‘What are the financial and emotional costs of publishing?’
– ‘What kind of returns can I expect from my writing?’
These are the kinds of things most writing guides don’t touch on, but they’re important because most authors ask these questions at some point.
Beyond Writing: Marketing and More
The book doesn’t stop at publication. I’ve included chapters on marketing too, because let’s face it, writing the book is only half the battle. There’s a lot of advice in there from me, and I hope it’ll be helpful on multiple levels.
It’s a companion to The Elements of Active Prose: Writing Tips to Make Your Prose Shine, and together, these books pretty much contain all my wisdom on novel writing.
Who’s It For?
If you’re an author, I think you’ll find this book helpful. It’s perfect for beginners, but it’s not only for beginners. There’s plenty in there for anyone who’s writing, no matter where you are in your journey.
What’s Next for Me in the Writing Sphere?
Now that this book is done, I’m moving on to my next project: therapeutic writing and memoirs. But for now, I’m thrilled to share this book with you.
So, go ahead—order it now! It’s being published on 12th December, so you’ll have it in your hands soon. It’s presently listed in ebook only, but the paperback will be there any day now.
