Want to read a unique thriller?

July 9, 2018 by Tahlia Newland

As the chief editor for AIA Publishing, I just announced the publication of the second edition of Almost Human by Kenneth L. Decroo. This is an unusual thriller about … you guessed it … chimpanzees. It’s about the people who care for them, in particular scientists and animal trainers interested in locating the results of rumoured experiments breeding hybrid human/chimps, while avoiding those who seek the hybrids – if they do exist – for nefarious purposes. The book is informed by the author’s personal experience in working with chimpanzees, so as well as a great story you also get a peek into the world of animal training for movies and circuses. It’s a great read, and one I am delighted to have published. I give it 5 stars, not because I published it, no, I published it because I thought it was worth 5 stars.

Description

When Dr. Ken Turner and his colleagues decide to search for rumored half-human, half-chimpanzee creatures, they get more than they bargained for. Now, with time running out, Ken must risk his career and life to find and protect these creatures before a group of shady underworld agents find them.

What readers are saying

“I absolutely love the writing voice of Kenneth L. Decroo in Almost Human. The book is a page turner. Once I started reading it I didn’t want to stop. The language is brilliant, and the story most exciting. This is fiction, however these thoughts might very well be something scientists discuss, and have discussed for long time. I rarely read thrillers, but really enjoyed this one.” Maria Jansson.

“I loved the book. It was fast paced, very informative, and never dull. It posed questions about theories of interbreeding within primate species and always kept you looking to the next chapter.” Moira A Foster.

“Fun, exciting, informative, and thrilling. Almost Human kept me on the edge of my seat from page 1 and just got bigger and better all the way through to the end. In just one book I’ve become a fan of Ken Decroo’s brilliant and intelligent writing. The plot, the characters, the relationships between humans and chimps are just incredible. And then there are those adorable chimps. Excellent piece of work; all in all deserving an A+.” Gary Seiler.

And there are a couple more great reviews on the back of this beautiful cover created for AIA Publishing by Rose from Velvet Wings Media
