AND, in the meantime, more reviews of Lethal Inheritance.

November 7, 2014 by Tahlia Newland

While I've been working hard getting the new Awesome Indies Book website set up,  the Awesome Allshorts anthology published and finishing my new book, Worlds Within Worlds, the Diamond Peak Series has started a tour with Girls Heart Book Tours. There's the usual interviews, excerpts and dream cast type posts, and the occasional review.  I'll let you know about the reviews, the good and the bad and will give you excepts. Nov 1: http://lissalynnsreviews.blogspot.com.au/2014/11/ghbt-review-lethal-inheritance-by.html I have to say I was very impressed by this book. I have found it difficult to get myself enamored in a fantasy novel for a while now. So I was very happy to find Newland's writing style just got my attention from the very first page. Ariel's story is new and different and I enjoyed going on this journey with her. I cannot wait to read book 2 in The Diamond Peak Series and I would recommend to anyone--YA readers or above. If you’re looking for a great adventure, fantastic characters, & lots of action you should check out this book!

August 21, 2013 by Tahlia Newland

This is the last day of the Demon's Grip blog tour and it's a review of book one Lethal Inheritance (with the old cover, but never mind). The reviewer says she wonders why she didn't read it before, if you're like her, perhaps it's time to take the plunge. Anyway take a look at what else Kayla says about Lethal Inheritance. http://caughtbetweenthepages.wordpress.com/2013/08/20/blog-tour-lethal-inheritance-by-tahlia-newland/   … [Read more...]

Blew my mind: another blog tour stop, another rave review

August 20, 2013 by Tahlia Newland

I recently wrote a review about a book that blew me away and the author contacted me and said how wonderful it was that I 'got it'. That's how I feel about the latest review of Demon's Grip. Thanks, Stacy. Stacy from Book Broads says,' I just got done reading this book and it blew my mind.' That's a pretty good opener! She goes on to show that she appreciated the thoughtful contemplative nature of this book. Pop on over and have a read. http://bookbroads.blogspot.com.au/?zx=16acde509256d7fa … [Read more...]

A huge jump towards awesomeness: another review of Demon’s Grip.

August 16, 2013 by Tahlia Newland

Another review of Demon's Grip has appeared and this reviewer agrees with the first two reviewers who think that it's a big improvement on the first two books. Perhaps it's because for this one, I decided that I didn't care what anyone thought. It's a fairly comprehensive review that gives you a good idea of what's in the book and it includes a few quotes. Please pop over and share what you find. http://ruthannereid.com/book-review/book-review-demons-grip-by-tahlia-newland/ … [Read more...]

Can author’s review their own work? This one can.

July 1, 2013 by Tahlia Newland

Today, or yesterday, depending on where in the world you are, I visited the blog of  new adult fantasy author Katie Stewart. Katie is a fellow Australian and also an Awesome Indies Approved author. If you follow the link to her blog, you'll find the review I wrote of Demon's Grip. It's a very candid review. You may be surprised at what I'm willing to say about my latest book.  I didn't say it was weird, but actually I think it is a bit; at the end anyway. We'll see what the reviewers say when they start to come in. http://kates-scribbles.blogspot.com.au/2013/06/guest-post-tahlia-newland.htmlDo pop over and give Katie some support. Check out her books while you're there. Like many independently published books, they're unique.Don't forget that book one, Lethal Inheritance ,is on sale on  Kindle and Kobo until the 5th of July for only 99c . Another book flies into cyberspace; guest post for Pavarti Tyler

June 28, 2013 by Tahlia Newland

Pavarti Tyler is another AIA (Awesome Indies Approved) author who writes magical realism and she has very kindly invited me to her blog to share my excitement at having a new book out. The post talks about the process of writing and how it feels to send a book out into the world. It also tells you a bit of the inside story on the series -  like why you should read it. :) So share some love with Pavarti, pop over and have a read. http://www.pavartiktyler.com/guest-post-from-tahlia-newland-on-her-newest-book/ And don't forget that, in celebration of the new release, Lethal Inheritance, book one in the Diamond Peak Series is only 99c on Kobo and Kindle until the 5th of July. … [Read more...]

Another 5 star review for Stalking Shadows: once again, a well-driven, well-plotted voyage through well-drawn, well-imagined worlds

May 25, 2013 by Tahlia Newland

Evie Woolmore wrote a review of Stalking Shadows in which she says (among other things) "once again, a well-driven, well-plotted voyage through well-drawn, well-imagined worlds." She also notes the importance of Nick's  POV in the this installment of the series. "Often YA fiction sees things from only the girl’s point of view, so this  is a welcome addition to the novel." Her review gives an insight into the issues dealt with in the novel. Follow the link to read the full review http://allonymbooks.wordpress.com/2013/05/15/indie-book-reviews-4/   … [Read more...]

Another 5 star review of ‘Stalking Shadows’ : A great story with love, jealousy, betrayal, battles, and hard lessons

May 23, 2013 by Tahlia Newland

I'm back at Book Broads today for Stacy's review of Stalking Shadows. She starts by saying she  'just got done with Stalking Shadows and it was really good,' then gives a run down on the story and finished by saying that she's looking forward to reading more of the story. Pop on over to read the review and leave a comment for a chance to win a copy of Lethal Inheritance. http://bookbroads.blogspot.com.au/2013/05/stalking-shadows-blog-tour.html … [Read more...]

“Wonderfully intense, magical, frightening, love-driven”: blog tour double review & give away

May 20, 2013 by Tahlia Newland

Today I'm at Twisted Sense with Nikki who has written a double review, one for Lethal Inheritance and one for Stalking Shadows--and she's keen to read the next one. She says (among other things) "Lethal Inheritance is a wonderfully intense, magical, frightening, love-driven YA book whose audience definitely is not limited to Young Adult." And on Stalking Shadows . . .  "The magical world remains, with an exceptionally well-written ribbon of “real world” weaved throughout." Pop over and share the love and enter the giveaway for an ebook of Lethal Inheritance. http://twistedsense.com/2013/05/tahlia-newland-series/ … [Read more...]
