I love this photo of one of my masks and a steampunk collar and cuffs that I made. The gorgeous model is my daughter, the talented videographer and book cover artist from Velvet Wings Media.
The photo is interesting, not only because it’s a lovely photo, but also because although the mask obscures half of her face, the wearing of it seems to reveal something normally hidden. The mask is beautiful and is clearly an adornment that could be worn for wedding photos or to an Eyes Wide Shut event or prom and so on, but it seems to me that the sensuous, elegant nature of the mask draws those qualities from the wearer.
I always consider that my masks are representations of the noble self, and when I see photos like this, I think it’s true.
What qualities do you see drawn out here?
