Step Into 2026 With Art Calendars That Inspire

I’m delighted to share my brand-new 2026 art calendars, each one a unique journey into imagination, spirit, and surreal beauty. Whether you’re drawn to angelic presence, bold fantasy, or whimsical satire, there’s a calendar here to bring joy and inspiration to your walls all year long. The Angel Calendar For those who love a touch of the spiritual in their everyday life, the Angel Calendar offers luminous imagery that uplifts and reminds you of the unseen guidance around us. Each month carries a gentle presence, perfect for creating a sacred corner in your home. The Fantasy Women Calendar This one is for lovers of bold, imaginative art and AI-created muses. The Fantasy Women Calendar celebrates strength, beauty, and mystery through striking compositions of “AI Babes” — a playful, artistic exploration of feminine archetypes in fantastical settings. The images are from the different music videos I’ve made this year. The Surreal…

New Angles on Writing From the Heart: Personal and Professional

Life is always changing. It’s a fact that we sometimes, if not often, forget. We tend to live our lives as if we’ll always feel the way we do now – always be this poor, or this sick or this angry or sad – but the truth is that everything changes all the time. Everything. Our moods for sure, but also things we normally consider relatively permanent, like the seat upon which we sit, or that mountain that rises above our home; they change constantly only it’s on a microscopic scale, so we tend not to notice. We notice the big things, like a tree falling, a roof being blown off, a flood that washes away a whole town, that sort of thing, and of course, death. But this post isn’t about death, I’ve left writing about that for my Substack publication, Tahlia Newland – From the Heart. This post…

It’s Real. It’s Here. In My Hands – Plus Other News

It’s here. I’m holding Psychemagination: Into the Underworld in my hands—and I’m so proud I could burst. This book is the result of several years of introspective art, neurodivergent healing, and poetic storytelling. It’s part memoir, part picture book for adults, and part self-guided art therapy journey. In the video below, I unwrap the paperback and share what this book means to me. It’s the first in a series that explores the neurodivergent experience through symbolic art and contemplative practice. Whether you’re neurodivergent or simply curious about your inner world, this book is an invitation to reflect, imagine, and heal. I’m still waiting on the hardback, and it should be an even better print job – at least I’m hoping so. I’ll show you that when it arrives. Join me on this journey. This is just the beginning. The Substack Project If you’re interested in exploring the deeper layers of…

It’s Here! ‘Psychemagination: Into the Underworld’ is Now Available

I can hardly believe I’m writing this. After a long and winding road—through formatting labyrinths, layout refinements, and platform peculiarities—Psychemagination: Into the Underworld is finally available in stores. In ebook, paperback, and hardback. It’s real. It’s ready. And it’s beautiful. This book marks the beginning of a series that feels like my life’s work. It brings together everything I love: the tactile beauty of well-crafted books, the evocative power of visual art, the depth of mythic and imaginative storytelling, and my desire to use creativity as a path to awareness. Because awareness, I believe, is the key to a happy life. Into the Underworld is more than a story—it’s a journey. A modern myth illustrated with AI-generated art and infused with introspective exercises designed to help you explore your own psyche. It’s a book to read slowly, to reflect with, to feel into. Where to Get It If you’re watching…

Rebranding: Why My Publishing Company Needed a New Name

The last month has been a rebranding exercies for me in terms of the publishing arm of my business. I have changed the name of my hybrid publisher AIA Publishing to Alkira Publishing. Why? Because someone stole our name and has used our good reputation to gain legitimacy for a business that doesn’t appear to share our integrity or care for our authors. Here’s the story of how I got to the point of having to make such a radical rebranding move as to change the business name. The problem The first I knew that someone else had started using the name AIA Publishing was when I received an email via the contact form on my website from a person I’d never heard of who was asking for their money back. This person wasn’t one of my authors. I had never worked with them in any capacity, nor had I…

When to Consider Revising a Book You’ve Already Published

Revising a book that you’ve already published isn’t just fixing typos; that’s a proofread. Revising a book is a complete re-evaluation of the material, which may result in some sections changing, some remaining the same or perhaps a line edit if the prose in general needs improving. Revising a book you’ve already published can be a huge job and it’s probably not a particularly inspiring task. I’m inspired by new ideas, not old ones, so I wouldn’t revise a book unless I considered it truly necessary. When to consider revising: Factors that affect your decision How much change makes it a new edition? The key thing here is the word ‘substantial’. A comprehensive line edit wouldn’t be a new edition, for instance, even with a couple of chapter deletions, because the material itself isn’t being changed, just the prose improved. A new cover isn’t a new edition, neither are changes…

AIA Publishing releases a gritty mystery/thriller – a highly recommended read.

AIA Publishing just released a new book by Liverpool author Pete Trewin. In it he draws on his background as a keen climber and as a town-planner where he met a number of dodgy and colourful characters. As the editor for AIA Publishing, I was taken by the style of the writing and the down-to-earth nature of the story. I offered him a publishing deal and  was delighted when he accepted. I feel it’s a great addition to AIA Publishings titles and I hope we’ll be able to work together again in the future. Though fiction, the characters ring true and the situations they find themselves in, though dramatic, are highly believable.  It’s a book I highly recommend. This is Pete Trewin’s third novel. EXCERPTS FRON AMAZON UK REVIEWS ‘Forrest Gump famously said life is like a box of chocolates. This book is more like a bag of licorice all-sorts –…

Where have I been? And is there a book in it?

Regular readers may be wondering why I haven’t posted much for the last few months, or maybe you haven’t noticed. Either way, I feel that some explanation might be in order. The photo might give you an idea. And if you’re a Facebook friend you will have gotten a glimpse. Also my post on Silence is the Black Pit of Despair will  explain a lot too.  Basically my spiritual teacher has been exposed as someone who has allegedly emotionally, physically and sexually abused some students. Needless to say, it was all a bit of a shock since I, as an ordinary person who never got close to the fellow, had no idea this was going on. I knew he was a bit rough in his ways, and I was never  comfortable with the way he treated his workers, but I had no idea of the extent of the behaviour. Scandals…
