Cat Diaries: Cat Friday & Cat Cradles.

February 21, 2015 by Tahlia Newland

My daughter Rose and I recently attended a two week meditation retreat and left Prince George with my husband Chris who is unused to having to attend to his needs and keep him entertained. During this time, Chris wrote the Cat Dairies and emailed them to us each day.

CAT FRIDAY

Cat Friday is not nearly as useful as Man Friday. Bunts, whines and wet nose all before 7.30am. Fed and leashed and thrown out back. Back to sleep. Oh no, cat’s cradles!!! So its up and into the day. Lunch time then out to buy cat food so furry boy gets left alone. So asleep at 4.30 in the shrine room with the afternoon sun powering in through the window. 6.30 and time to do stuff outside so hot limp rag is raised from slumber and sent outback. Took an hour for him to wake up, right on my dinner time. Then its flying to end of the leash out the front, in the door for tucker, out the back, in for tucker or something, and whines and carries on. Decide its too late so take the leash off. Go out to empty compost and flying furballs comes from nowhere, streaks between my legs and is up the goat track in a whisker. But silly hunter cannot resist a fluttering piece of bark and is captured. So, soft homemaker decides it must be walk time. Wrong!! it was run time. Here there and everywhere at full ear back tilt. Rope burns and tangles, but we ran off a bit of cat steam. Got in as the dark descended. So endith cat Friday.
