Another review from one of the awesome YA fantasy book review blogs hosting the blog tour. This is from Roxy Kade, Pop over and show her some love. Leave a comment on her post.
This epic adventure continued from where book one ended and I couldn’t wait to get right back into the action.
By now I’ve gotten to know these characters pretty well and I enjoyed continuing their journey with them, with a few minor characters who appeared in book one playing a bigger role in this story, as well as a few new ones.
Filled with even more twists and turns, this story only got better and better. With new alliances and even more danger, there were moments when I had to wonder who could be trusted and who had their own agenda. And then there was the romance element that didn’t completely steal the show but satisfied the romantic in me. I enjoyed seeing Ariel and Nick together, and even though Ariel was so reluctant to be anything more than friends, sparks fired whenever these two interacted. There was just no denying their chemistry. Although, I must admit that is was a nice change to have a character who looked at the bigger picture instead of falling all over themselves in the name of love.
Again, the thing that stood out for me was the message this book held, and I absolutely loved the way in which it was delivered. Instead of feeding our demon’s we should look to the light within to find peace, acceptance and understanding.
I’m eager to get to the next level on the mountain and one step closer to defeating the ultimate evil that lurks.
